江豪記臭豆腐 Jiang Hao Ji Stinky Tofu ─ 高雄 Kaohsiung
address: No. 40, Minsheng 2nd Rd, Xinxing District, Kaohsiung City
One year ago when I was visiting Kaohsiung, I had the chance to try for the first time, stinky tofu from “Jiang Hao Ji Stinky Tofu”. I was deeply attracted to this delicacy. One year has passed and I am visiting Kaohsiung again. I named this place as a must-go during this trip. This time, I came to the branch on Xinxing district Minsheng 2nd road near Kaohsiung’s central park.
The large red sign is very prominent.
All the food here is mainly based on stinky tofu, steamed or fried. Besides stinky tofu, there are some hotpot. For the latest menu, you can go check out their official website.
Besides the Minsheng branch I visited today, there are other branches across southern Taiwan.
For dining at this “Jiang Hao Ji Stinky Tofu”, you need to order on the first floor and they will assign you seatings on 1st or 2nd floor.

You can smell the stinky tofu right away. The garlic sprouts are on stinky tofu and there is a layer of ground pork below the stinky tofu.
I used the tips from the restaurant to enjoy the stinky tofu
First, I put garlic sprouts and grounded pork on the stinky tofu. Then I had a taste with the bean paste. The rich taste was super delicious. The grounded pork also has corn in it to add a sweetness to the taste. The soup of the steamed stinky tofu isn’t too salty, and actually a bit sweet. The stinky tofu absorbed the soup and is very flavorful. Every bite was quite satisfying. I highly recommended.
▲麻辣鴨血泡麵 Spicy Duck Blood With Instant Noodle NT 60
At first, I thought the instant noodle isn’t cooked until soft. But it was actually just right and absorbed the right amount of soup. The soup base was slow cooked with Chinese herbal medicine. It was rich and flavorful. Not only is the duck blood tender, it is also very flavorful since it had absorbed the soup.
▲脆皮臭豆腐 （小）Crispy fried stinky tofu (small) NT 50
I was a bit regretful after ordering a small order of crispy fried stinky tofu since a large order has 6 and small order only has 4. The price difference however was a mere 15NT.
The crispy stinky tofu has a whole in the middle and has garlic and scallion inside. The surface of the stinky tofu was very crispy and crunchy. The inside is still very moist and absorbed just enough sauce. I love to put some kimchi and spicy bean paste inside the hole as well. Every bite was very satisfying. The crispy stinky tofu is very high-class. I didn’t feel it was greasy and the kimchi that came with it is crispy and refreshing.
Jiang Hao Ji Stinky Tofu’s steamed and crispy tofu are both a must-order when I come here. Steamed stinky tofu (I eat with garlic sprouts, grounded pork, and bean paste. The rich and flavorful taste is very delicious. there is corn within the grounded pork to add a hint of sweetness. The soup isn’t too salty as well, it is quite sweet. The crispy stinky-tofu (has a hole inside with scallion and garlic. I love to add kimchi and spicy bean paste in the hole as well. Every bite is very satisfying. The surface is very crispy and crunchy and the inside is moist and absorbed enough sauce. Very delicious, not too oily. The kimchi that came with it is very crispy and refreshing). This place is conveniently located, price is relatively cheap. It is a delicious restaurant where the value way exceed what you pay for. I recommend to everyone!
