台北好吃的餐廳實在太多了,
我很少在一個月內再訪同一家餐廳
但【 Sugar Pea 】是一家我願意馬上再來品嘗的餐廳
第一次來訪後我就愛上這家餐廳,
不僅環境很美, 餐點也完全無地雷都很好吃

There are many options in Taipei when it comes to delicious restaurants.
Therefore, I rarely visit the same restaurant twice in a given month.
However, I am always more than willing to make an exception for “Sugar Pea”
Not only does Sugar Pea have a stunningly beautiful environment, all the food I have tried there were amazing.

二訪【 Sugar Pea 】我決定點跟上次完全不一樣的餐點

這道烤蛋料理的靈魂人物是番茄
新鮮番茄做成的番茄醬加上蘑菇, 菠菜
每一口都能品嘗到番茄的酸甜
將半熟蛋攪拌進去番茄醬中, 使整體口感更為濃郁
一旁搭配有purebread的烤麵包,
可以沾取番茄醬一起享用

On my second visit of “Sugar Pea”, I’ve decided to not order anything I have tried already on the first visit.

The protagonist of this dish was definitely the tomato.
With tomato sauce made with fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach, I could taste the sweetness of the tomatoes with each bite.
The semi-cooked egg stirred into the tomato sauce made the overall texture even creamier.
The dish served with bread from purebread which you can enjoy by dipping with the tomato sauce.

傳統上是以米和黑豆為主要食材
但主廚Sandy卻用藜麥取代米
使得這道料理更為健康
除了藜麥, 這道料理還含有大量蔬菜和烤得軟嫩的雞胸肉
食材豐富多樣, 每一口品嘗起來都清爽無負擔

Traditionally, the dish is should be made with rice and black beans as the main ingredients.
However, chef Sandy replaced rice with quinoa to make this dish a healthier option.
Besides quinoa, this dish also contains lots of veggies and tender chicken breasts.
There is a rich variety of ingredients and each bite is refreshing and not burdening.

▲香蕉鬆餅由五片鬆餅堆疊, 口感軟中帶點蓬鬆感
一旁搭配鮮奶油, 蜂蜜花生糖漿, 和香蕉布蕾
鮮奶油本身不會甜膩, 蜂蜜花生糖漿很滑順濃郁,
我個人喜歡拿鬆餅沾上鮮奶油和蜂蜜花生糖漿,
最後加上香蕉布蕾一起入口
讓嘴裡充滿花生香氣 ?

▲Banana Pancake comes with 5 stacked pancakes. The texture is soft and slightly fluffy.
There is whipped cream, honey peanut syrup, and Banana Brulee on the side.
The whipped cream isn’t too heavy, and the syrup is smooth and flavorful.
I personally enjoyed eating the pancakes with both the whipped cream and syrup and top it off with a Banana Brulee.
The delicious peanut taste will linger in your mouth for a while.

心得

再訪【 Sugar Pea 】環境和食物依舊讓我滿意
這次我點跟上次完全不一樣的餐點:
“義式番茄菇菇鑄鐵鍋燉烤蛋”, “墨西哥辣烤雞肉”, “香蕉鬆餅”
其中我最喜歡”墨西哥辣烤雞肉”
這道料理充滿著濃濃的墨西哥風味
傳統上是以米和黑豆為主要食材
但主廚Sandy卻用藜麥取代米
使得這道料理更為健康
除了藜麥, 這道料理還含有大量蔬菜和烤得軟嫩的雞胸肉

Verdict

The environment and food of “Sugar Pea” were still satisfying on my second visit.
This time I ordered food completely different from my last visit:
“Italian Tomato Mushroom Cast Iron Egg Bake”, “Spicy Mexican Grilled Chicken”, “Banana Pancake”.
I personally favorite of the day is the “Spicy Mexican Grilled Chicken”.
This dish is full of the Mexican flavor.
Traditionally, they use rice and black beans as the main ingredients.
However, chef Sandy replaced rice with quinoa to make this dish a healthier option.
Besides quinoa, this dish also contains lots of veggies and tender chicken breasts.

The fries is crunchy and ketchup is self-served.
Panini is on the dry side and was so-so.

Here there is no menu available, the bartender will serve you personalized creative drinks based on the season and your preferences
The most famous sets of drinks here are “Drugs” and “Fantastic Voyage”

為了營造出熱茶的效果, 杯底放有乾冰
在品嘗的時候要用杯蓋遮擋, 小心不要喝下乾冰

Let us start off the voyage with the China drink that has the least amount of alcohol taste.
Made with Jasmine tea, the China has a strong and flavorful taste of tea.
To create the illusion of “steaming” hot tea, there is dry ice at the bottom of the cup.
To drink it, you will need to sip it while blocking the dry ice with the lid. Be careful not to drink the dry ice.

這杯不是我喝的, 朋友說後勁很足
番茄片的酒味又濃又辣,

The cocktail below is poured into a skull cup which represents the Italian mafia.
Therefore, this cocktail is called Cicily Tomato.
It is also layered like the French.
You should drink it in one go to get the actual taste.
I didn’t drink this one, but my friend said it has a strong after taste.
The tomato slice’s alcohol taste is quite strong.

“維也納咖啡”喝起來其實就是咖啡酒

Be careful when you drink this since the coffee powder may get on your face.
“Vienna Coffee” is actual just coffee liquor.

很快就喝完了, 但真的蠻有趣的

我朋友還跟店員開玩笑說是不是喝了等下要跳著走出去
店員笑著解釋說因為這杯後勁比較強
喝完走路會搖搖晃晃, 所以才取這個名字
“含笑半步癲”是以百香果口味的, 喝起來蠻清爽的

This is a phrase you would know if you watch Stephen Chow movies.
My friend joked with the bartender that do we need to jump our way out after finishing this drink.
The bartender explained it got its name since the aftertaste of this is quite strong. It may cause you to stumbled while you walk.
“Han xiao ban bu dian” is passion fruit flavored and quite refreshing.

奶蓋讓調酒喝來柔順絲滑,感覺很甜蜜。
“紫地瓜”的比例非常完美的比例, 是讓你想不到的味道

They mashed the steamed purple sweet potato into Vodka and honey. There is a layer of salted cream on top.
Unlike your regular cocktails, the salted cream made it tasted silky smooth and sweet.
The “Purple Sweet Potato” has a perfect ratio of ingredients. It is a flavor you could not have imagined.

所以訂位的時候, 我是留下英文名
這裡的外國客人很多, 用餐的時候常會聽到旁邊客人用英文在聊天
加上環境很歐美, 讓我真的有置身國外的感覺

Recently, “Sugar Pea” has been a popular Taipei restaurant on Instagram.
It’s white and modern glass house and dining environment is dreamy and romantic.
The main chef of Sugar Pea is Korean. The restaurant also hires foreign workers as well.
Therefore, when I made a reservation, I left my English name.
There are loads of foreign customers here. I hear lots of English conversations around me.
Along with the European-American environment, I almost felt like I am currently overseas.

The most attractive dining area in Sugar Pea is this white glass area.

▲玻璃屋這一區在白天的時候陽光直接灑落進來, 使得整體空間很明亮,
自然光所拍出來的環境和食物都好美, 好有質感!!!

The glass area is filled with direct sunlight during the day. It made the whole space bright and clear.
With an abundance of natural lights, all pictures of the environment and food came out to be amazingly beautiful!!!

因為小黃瓜, 苗菜,和酪梨的關係,
吃起來除了爽口之外又多了點綿密的口感
小圓吐司很有嚼勁, 整體豐富的口感我很喜歡

The chicken leg is very soft and tender and not too dry.
Because of cucumber, seedlings, and avocado, it adds a silky smooth taste to an already refreshing taste.
The slices of round toast were chewy. I love the rich textures this dish has.

我很愛吃鹹跟甜的組合, 在吃之前馬上淋上純楓糖漿
吃起來濕潤鬆軟且每口都散發鹹中帶點微甜的滋味
一旁的綜合生菜沙拉很新鮮, 調味偏清淡

▲ Pancake burger is made by sandwiching handmade pork patty, cheddar cheese, and sunny-side up egg with yogurt pancakes.
I personally love a combination of sweet and savory so I pour over the maple syrup right before enjoying the meal.
This dish was moist and soft and each bite has a savory with a hint of sweetness.
The mixed salad on the side was fresh and lightly seasoned.

▲This winter seasonal veggie bibimbap is the best Korean bibimbap I have had in the Taipei area.
Sugar Pea’s Korean Chef Sandy has a perfect interpretation of this traditional Korean dish.
This bibimbap has seasonal vegetables with US Prime Angus Beef Ribs, brown rice, and mushrooms.
For a spicy lover like me, it also has home-made Korean Spicy Paste.
Each bite was super delicious with a rich texture.

Not only is the environment of Sugar Pea beautiful, the food is satisfying as well.
While I was dining at Sugar Pea, I am already planning my next visit. ?
I was satisfied with all the food I had today:
Grill chicken & cucumber toast, pancake burger, and winter seasonal veggie bibimbap, red velvet.
Each dish was delicious and left me very pleased.

每張桌子上都有粗麻線繩造型的吊燈
吊燈的燈光直接照在桌面, 所以即使店內光線較暗,
Menu和菜色都看的很清楚, 也可以拍的很清楚 ?
整個環境就是燈光美,氣氛佳

The lighting inside the restaurant is on the dark side here which creates an ambiance of a Michelin-like restaurant.
Each table has a rope-style hanging light on top of it.
The light directly shines on the table so even though the lighting overall in the restaurant is dark, you can see the menu and the food clearly. The pictures I took came out quite clear too ?
Overall, the environment has beautiful lighting and ambiance.

▲麵包附上三種佐料, 分別是: 海鹽, 煙燻奶油, 和 啤酒奶油
這兩種奶油都是外面很少見的口味, 對我來說很新奇
兩種奶油相比, 我更偏好帶有濃郁氣息的煙燻奶油
啤酒奶油味道較淡更接近於一般的原味奶油

The bread came with sea salt, smoked butter, and beer butter.
You rarely see these 2 types of butter outside of here, quite new to me.
As for the 2 butter, I prefer the more flavorful smoked butter.
The beer butter is on the lighter side and very similar to your normal butter.

口感扎實Q彈, 外酥內軟
嚼起來有淡淡酵母發酵後的微酸香氣
值得細細品嘗

The bread is freshly baked and was still warm in hand.
It is chewy, hard on the outside, but soft on the inside.
The bread is very delicious and worth taking your time to enjoy every bite.

▲在雞肝上有一層脆脆的焦糖, 再鋪上新鮮的菜葉點綴
處理過的雞肝沒有腥味,口感很像烤布蕾般的滑嫩。
整道料理吃起來甜甜鹹鹹, 搭配酸麵包非常好吃!

On the chicken liver, there is a layer of crunchy caramel. On top, there is also fresh veggies.
The processed chicken liver flavor isn’t too strong. The texture is soft like a Creme Brûlée.
Overall, the dish is both sweet and savory. It is very delicious with the sourdough.

低溫真空烹調後的雞胸肉外滑內嫩
一旁的綜合菇類也調味的很棒

The is the most tender and juicy chicken breast I have ever had.
The chicken breast was vacuum cooked at low temperature and is very soft and tender.
The mixed mushrooms on the side are seasoned well.

▲【 MUME 】的燉飯採用薏仁取代了傳統的Risotto
吃之前先將水波蛋拌入,
因為採用薏仁, 口感是新奇的Q彈
但整體調味太鹹且顯得很平淡, 個人不是很喜歡

Unlike traditional risotto dishes, MUME substitute in barley.
First, you should break the poached egg and mix in well.
Since they use barley, the texture is surprisingly chewy.
However, the overall seasoning was too salty and made this dish not too enjoyable.

Look at this beauty right here.
The grilled steak has a very crispy skin.
The doneness of the steak was controlled perfectly. The steak was very tender.
The cabbage on the side is very sweet after baking.
The carrots have a hint of lemon’s taste.
You can enjoy layers of different textures by eating these with the steak

只是高級餐廳用餐還有時間限定這點我不是很滿意
餐點的部分我推薦:

Smaller: Mushroom & chicken,
Bigger: Beef Shortrib
但因為【 MUME 】的菜色會隨著季節替換

Bigger: Beef Shortrib
But since MUME’s food changes with the season, you may be eating dishes completely different from mine. I welcome all to let me know your experience at MUME.

在台灣想吃到各個種類的美味麵包越來越容易
從日式麵包到台式麵包,
從口味到造型都有很多選擇

今天我來拜訪的麵包店 –【 Purebread 】, 堅持只賣最純粹的歐式麵包
【 Purebread 】的麵包出自日籍美裔麵包師Davis之手,
他畢業於美國舊金山烘焙學院,
店內主打三種款式:傳統歐式麵包、可頌類、和以發酵酸麵團(Sourdough)製成的酸麵包

It is getting easier to find various types of delicious bread in Taiwan. There are many choices and styles from Japanese to Taiwanese bread. “Purebread”, the bakery I visited today, sells only pure European style bread. The breads here are made from a Japanese American baker, Davis. He graduated from San Fransisco Baking Institute. The bakery here has 3 main styles of bread which includes traditional European bread, croissant, sourdough.

Purebread is conveniently located. It is a 10 minutes walk from Daan Station. The navy blue color of the store is very European.

You will smell the delicious bread smell right away when you open the door.
The left side is stacked with flour and the kitchen is located near the end of the bakery.

這也是麵包師Davis最拿手的麵包種類
酸麵包是以酸麵團為基地天然發酵的麵包
吃的時候會感受到發酵過後的酸味以及天然的麥香
酸麵包的外皮比較脆硬
但裡面卻柔軟Q彈帶有嚼勁

Behind the counter, you can find sourdough bread.

This is the signature bread of the baker Davis. sourdough bread is made using naturally fermented sourdough.
You can taste the fermented sourness and the natural wheat flavor. The surface of sourdough bread is a bit hard, but the inside is soft and chewy.

心得

超級推薦”墨西哥辣椒酸麵團”
這款麵包將酸麵團和墨西哥辣椒, 切達起司混合
吃起來的時候會感受到微微的辣
酸中帶辣的口感越嚼越香
而且辣椒的香氣會在嘴巴內維持一段時間

“傳統可頌”是店內的基本款
切開后一層一層堆疊起來的漂亮線條, 值得一嘗

“杏仁柳橙布里歐”帶有清爽的柳橙香氣
上面灑上滿滿杏仁,
但不知道是不是因為我放隔夜
杏仁有些軟掉
我會更喜歡酥脆口感的杏仁片

Verdict

I highly recommend the “Mexican pepper sourdough bread”. This bread combined sourdough, Mexican pepper, and cheddar cheese.
It is slightly spicy. The sour and spicy taste gets better and better the more you chew the bread. The pepper’s flavor stays in your mouth for quite a while.

The traditional croissant is the most basic bread in the bakery. When you cut it open, you can see the beautiful layers. Worth a try.

The “Almond Orange Brio” has a refreshing orange flavor and has many almonds on top of brio. But perhaps it is because I put the croissant overnight, the almond is a bit soft. I would have preferred crunchier almond pieces.

週末去建國假日花市逛逛, 買了些乾燥花後肚子開始餓了,
打開Google地圖, 決定去大安站附近的【貳房苑 Livingreen】吃午餐
(非常隨性的計劃)
去之前我有先打電話確認一下有沒有座位

I went to the Jianguo Holiday Flower Market for some dried flowers on a weekend and started to get hungry.
After browsing around Google Map, I decided to eat lunch at “Livingreen” close to Daan station. (I know, very spontaneous planning)
I did call ahead to check if there are seats available before going.

If you take the subway to Daan station, it is a 3 minutes walk from Daan Station exit 4.

發現大家一致推薦這款”川味孜然麻辣仙草乾拌麵”
愛吃辣的我, 馬上決定點這個

一上桌就聞到孜然和麻辣的香氣
上面那半顆糖心雞蛋的蛋黃看起來好誘人
麵條Q彈有勁, 雖然是仙草乾拌麵, 卻沒吃出仙草味
一口咬下帶有孜然香氣及微微舒服的辣勁
讓人一口接得一口吃, 停不下來!

但份量不多, 吃完有種意猶未盡的感覺

When we were deciding on what to order, I quickly consulted pictures on Instagram. I found that almost everyone recommended this “Sichuan cumin spicy grass jelly noodles”. Since I love spicy food, I quickly decide to order this. When this came to the table, you can smell the cumin right away. The marinated soft-boiled egg on top looks so deliciously tempting. The noddle itself is chewy. Even though it is grass jelly noodle, I couldn’t taste any grass jelly at all. Instead, each bite came with the cumin smell and a hint of a comfortable spiciness. I couldn’t stop myself from eating bites after bites!

However, the portion isn’t large which leaves me craving for more.

店員介紹”主廚推薦私房麵”有兩個選項,
其中一個是鵝油乾拌麵,
另一個是剝皮辣椒雞肉麵

漸漸入冬的台北天氣陰陰的下著小雨
想喝熱湯的的我們, 決定點剝皮辣椒雞肉麵

利用剝皮辣椒煮成的湯頭, 微微辣
因為有蘿蔔和香菇使湯喝起來很清甜
有種喝關東煮湯的感覺,
麵條是細麵, 吃起來很Q彈

There are 2 kinds of house special noodle. One is goose oil dry noodles and the other is peeled pepper chicken noodle soup.

Since winter is coming and Taipei is cloudy with constant drizzle. We were craving for some hot soup. Therefore, we decided to order the peeled pepper chicken noodle soup.

Using peeled pepper as the soup base, it is slightly spicy. Since it has radish and mushroom, the soup is sweet and refreshing as well. Kind of feel like I am drinking Kanto soup. The noodle is a thin noodle and chewy as well.

很愛檸檬塔的我當然要選擇他們的檸檬塔
【貳房苑 Livingreen】的檸檬塔和一般外面看到的檸檬塔不一樣
上面多了一層烤過得棉花糖,
外形看起來頗為討喜
檸檬塔的酸度對我來說稍顯不足,
棉花糖沒有想象中的那麼甜
整體而言讓人有些失望

I have a fetish for lemon tarts, so obviously I have to order their lemon tart to try.
Livingreen’s lemon tart is different from your ordinary lemon tart since it has an extra layer of baked marshmallow.
The outside is quite cute, but the sourness of lemon tart is a bit lacking for my taste.
The marshmallow isn’t as sweet as I thought. Overall, it is slightly disappointing.

【貳房苑 Livingreen】位在捷運大安站4號出口附近, 交通非常便利
店內的餐點是中西合併的
可以吃到西式早午餐, 也可以品嘗到台式乾麺
飲品和甜點”雲朵  棉花糖檸檬塔”的表現普通

最推薦的是”輕嘆  川味孜然麻辣仙草乾拌麵”

店內用餐環境舒適, 店員服務態度親切

Verdict

Livingreen is located near exit 4 of Daan Station, very conveniently located. The meals inside is a combination of Chinese and Western.
You can get western brunch as well as Taiwanese dry noodle here. The drinks and the lemon tart dessert are average.

I do recommend the Sichuan cumin spicy grass jelly noodles. When this came to the table, you can smell the cumin right away. The marinated soft-boiled egg on top looks so deliciously tempting. The noddle is chewy. Even though it is grass jelly noodle, I couldn’t taste any grass jelly. Each bite came with cumin and a hint of the comfortable spiciness. I couldn’t stop myself from eating bites after bites!

The restaurant’s environment is comfortable, and the employees friendly. But the prices is really on the expensive side.

【WUnique Pâtisserie 無二法式甜點】藏在安和路與敦化南路間的巷弄,從六張梨捷運站走過來有點距離。但為了美味的甜點無論多隱秘都要來拜訪~

“WUnique Pâtisserie” is hidden in an alley near the intersection of Anhe Rd and Dunhua S Rd. It is a bit of a walk from Liuzhangli subway station. But for delicious desserts, I will definitely visit no matter how hidden it is.

我們運氣算不錯,大約等待了10-15分鐘就有顧客離開

“WUnique Pâtisserie” has a simplistic white appearance on the outside.
There are only about 3 to 4 tables on the inside.
We were on the lucky side on the day we visit. Even though it was full when we walked in, a customer left in about 10-15 minutes.

每份甜點都像一份藝術品般精緻,
除了冷藏櫃內的甜點也有幾項常溫商品,
至於千層派是現作的所以不會擺在裡頭,
目前千層派有原味香草 & 海鹽焦糖兩種口味。

You can find a variety of desserts orderly displayed in a clean and shiny transparent display fridge
Each dessert is as fine as a work of art. Besides the desserts here, there are a couple other desserts stored at room temperature.
As for Mille Feuille, they are made fresh so you won’t find any in the display case. As for now, they offer two flavors of Mille Feuille, vanilla and sea salt caramel.

WUnique Pâtisserie’s table is for tasting desserts only, so the dining limit is set to one hour. However, they do not have a spending limit of one drink per person.

▲經典法式千層派 (原味香草) Mille Feuille (Vanilla) NT 160

他們的經典法式千層派真的很出色,
千層派皮又薄又香,吃起來酥脆,
而且放在嘴裡香氣充滿整個口中
裡面的原味香草卡士達醬口感滑順,吃起來甜而不膩,
最後尾韻帶了些焦香。

***唯一讓我有點苦惱的事,
每次吃千層派都不知該怎麼下刀,
常常會切到派皮歪掉,夾心層的卡士達醬也會爆漿

Their Mille Feuille is truly a delicacy,
the crust is thin, delicious, and very crispy.
When you take a bite, the delicious taste of the Mille Feuille quickly fills your mouth.
The vanilla custard is smooth, sweet, but does not get heavy.
As icing on the cake, there is a slight caramel aftertaste.

***There is something that has always bother me when it comes to Mille Feuille.
I am never sure how to cut and enjoy a Mille Feuille as I always end up destroying the Mille Feuille with the crust breaking off or the custard exploding.

▲歐貝拉 Opera au Yuzu NT 180

這款歐貝拉是以日本柚子 · 榛果 · 檸檬為主,
外形典雅簡單,可以看到蛋糕的側面
濃郁的榛果味在舌尖跳躍
整體口感醇厚,質地豐富

The opera cake is made using Japanese Yuzu, hazelnut, and lemon as the main ingredients.
The appearance is elegant and simple, and you can see the layers from the side.
The rich hazelnut flavor will quickly satisfy your tongue
Overall, the taste is flavorful with a rich texture.

心得:
【WUnique Pâtisserie 無二法式甜點】的甜點選項很多。不僅每份甜點都像一份藝術品般精緻,味道也很棒!他們的經典法式千層派 (原味香草) 現點現做真的很出色,千層派皮又薄又香,吃起來酥脆,而且放在嘴裡香氣充滿整個口中。裡面的原味香草卡士達醬口感滑順,吃起來甜而不膩,最後尾韻帶了些焦香。歐貝拉表現也很有水平,外形典雅簡單,可以看到蛋糕的側面。一入口濃郁的榛果味在舌尖跳躍,整體口感醇厚且質地豐富。今天的甜點都好好吃,讓我決定再訪【WUnique Pâtisserie 無二法式甜點】,品嘗更多的美味。

Verdict:
WUnique Pâtisserie has a good variety of desserts. Not only does each dessert look like a fine piece of art, they are delicious too! Their vanilla Mille Feuille truly is awesome. The crust is thin, delicious, and very crispy. When you take a bite, the delicious taste of the Mille Feuille quickly fills your mouth. The vanilla custard is smooth, sweet, but does not get heavy. As icing on the cake, there is a slight caramel aftertaste. The opera is decent as well. The appearance is elegant and simple, and you can see the layers from the side. The rich hazelnut flavor will quickly satisfy your tongue. Overall, the taste is flavorful with a rich texture. Today’s desserts were all delicious, I have decided I will come visit “WUnique Pâtisserie” again to try out more delicious desserts.
