陳玉華一隻雞 (Jin Ok Hwa Original Chicken Restaurant) -東大門 Dongdaemun


 

今天玩的路線依照地鐵路來看, 惠化站(梨花村壁畫處)-東大門站-明洞站都是在地鐵4號(天空藍)線上。

但怕陳玉華一隻雞中午時間段會很多人,所以我們決定先來吃,再去壁畫村拍照,然後慢慢走回到東大門逛街。

Our plan today are all along the subway 4th (sky blue) lane like this: Hyehwa – Dongdaemun – Myeongdong.

Since we are afraid that ‘Jin Ok Hwa Original Chicken Restaurant’ would be too crowded during lunch time, we came here early to eat, then we would go to Hyehwa to take pictures, and walk to Dongdaemun to shop.

因為陳玉華一隻雞位在小巷子內比較難找,大家來跟著我的腳步來找尋它吧。

Since ‘Jin Ok Hwa Original Chicken Restaurant’ is located in an alley and not easy to find, you can follow my footsteps below.

The store is a 5 minutes straight walk from the Dongdaemun subway station’s 9th exit.

▲看到左邊的招牌有照片上的(ZEN) 字樣,就可以左轉進去巷子內
When you see a billboard with the word ‘Zen’, you can take a left into the alley.

Walk all the way toward the end, the store is located at the end of the alley on your right side.

▲我們一坐下來,店員就迅速的送上一隻雞 ,再用中文詢問我們要不要加年糕,我們說好之後年糕也迅速送來。
When we took our seat, the waitress quickly served a full chicken and asked as in Chinese if we wanted rice cake.
When we said yes, they quickly brought out the rice cake as well.

裡面有一隻雞、蔥段和一小顆對切的馬鈴薯
Full chicken consist of: well, a full chicken. It also has scallion and a small piece of potato.

▲ 泡菜自取喔,這個泡菜不是要直接吃的,而是要加入湯中的
Self-served kimchi. This is for adding into the soup and not for eating directly.

▲當我拿完泡菜回來的時候,姨母逆(이모님)就已經來快速的幫我們分解雞肉。分解完後加入一大匙的蒜頭進入湯中。最後交代雞肉要煮10分鐘後才可以吃。
After I brought back some kimchi, the waitress quickly came to shred the chicken and add a big spoonful of garlic cloves into the soup. Then, they told us the chicken needs to be cooked for 10 minutes before consumption.

From the interent, their chicken uses a 35-days old chicken to cook the soup.

10分鐘后開動! 他們的雞肉真的超嫩, 完全不柴, 我們都好愛這個肉質.
After 10 minutes, its time to dig in! The chicken is Sooooooo tender. Me and my friend both loved the meat.

▲帶有濃濃蒜味的湯頭喝起來很暖胃,  這餐全部的精華都在湯裡. 四月初的韓國還是有點涼, 特別是今天飄有小雨, 在喝完之後整個人都暖起來了.
The soup is full of garlic taste and is warming to our stomach. Korea is still kind of chilly at early april, and today is also drizzling. After drinking the soup, we are quite warm.

▲姨母逆(이모님)建議我們醬料要加醬油、辣椒、醋、黃芥末!總之大家就將桌上的醬料全部調在一起就對了!
The waitress recommend us to put soysauce, hot pepper, vinegar, mustard together as dipping sauce.

▲年糕吸了湯汁, 煮完之後吃起來還是QQ的, 很好吃!
The ricecake absorb some of the soup, and very tender and chewy. very delicious!

▲加入泡菜, 變成泡菜雞湯. 不過說實在,我們還是比較喜歡原味. 也有可能因為我們放太多泡菜, 湯喝到最後有點太酸了.
Added the kimchi to become kimchi chicken soup. However, we prefered the original flavor. Maybe its because we put in too much kimchi, and made the soup a bit too sour.

▲招呼完客人的姨母逆(이모님)們就坐在我們旁邊吃! (原來他們的員工餐也是一隻雞呀) 他們是一開始就加入泡菜煮. 然後搭配白飯. 將雞湯直接加入白飯拌著一起吃.

After helping the customers, the waitresses ate right next to us! (looks like employee meal is also a full chicken) They added the kimchi right at the beginning to cook and pour the chicken soup into the rice to eat together.

心得:

在涼涼的早上, 拿”陳玉華一隻雞 진옥화할매원조닭한마리”來當做早午餐, 吃完人和心都暖起來了! 湯頭、雞肉、沾醬、年糕都好好吃. 不過我們還是比較推薦原味的湯頭.

Verdict:

Eating a full chicken on a chilly morning as brunch really made us warm all the way into our hearts. The soup, chicken, dipping sauce, ricecake are all delicious. We personally recommend the original soup flavor without the kimchi.
